Becoming the church your city can’t ignore.
A strategic intensive for pastors & leadership teams
Come as a team. Bring the leaders who’ll actually do the work — the room is where the plan gets owned.
Inspiration fades by the drive home. Strategy doesn’t. Every hour of this intensive is engineered to send you back to your city with clarity, a next step, and a team that knows exactly what to do Monday morning.

City First LA is a four-hour working intensive that helps pastors and their teams build a practical strategy to become indispensable to their community — not another conference to sit through, a room to build in.
Churches don’t grow because they preach better. They grow because they become easier to invite someone to, easier to belong to, and harder for their city to ignore. That doesn’t happen by accident — it happens on purpose. It starts with a written 90-day plan, built in one room on August 25 and timed so Back to Church Sunday and your whole fall season land inside it.
Three framework sessions. One implementation block. One plan you actually leave with.
Most pastors carry a mental map of their city drawn years ago. This session tears it up — past demographics and zip codes, into the actual territory your church was built to occupy. You’ll leave knowing exactly where your ground is and what it takes to hold it.
The most powerful partnerships in your city are already waiting — nobody’s pulled up a chair. This is about building the relationships that make the city move. Not programs. Not events. Actual bridges to the people, organizations, and institutions that share your street.
Your city isn’t resistant to the church — it’s just never been genuinely invited. There’s a difference between announcing your doors are open and actually asking someone to walk through them. This redefines what a real invitation looks like — and why the one nobody made might be the only one that matters.
This is where the room shifts. No more frameworks. No more context — this block is construction. You leave with a written 90-day plan built around shared milestones every church in the room is moving toward together — starting with Back to Church Sunday. Three moments. One movement. Your plan starts here.
Every pastor in this room represents an entire congregation and the neighborhood around it. If just ten churches averaging 150 people leave with a plan, the strategies built in one four-hour room shape how 1,500+ congregants engage their communities over the next 90 days.
Four focused hours, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM — built so you leave with a finished plan, not just notes.
Check in, grab coffee, and meet the other pastors and teams in the room before the work begins.
Tear up the old map — and claim the ground only your church can hold.
Build the partnerships already waiting — real bridges to the people and institutions that share your street.
Eat in the room while we record a live episode — a candid conversation about the church and the city, with a special guest at the table. The plan doesn’t pause.
Your city was never resistant — just never truly invited. Redefine the real invitation.
The longest block of the day — construct your written 90-day plan around shared milestones, starting with Back to Church Sunday. Three moments. One movement.
Walk out with your plan in hand. Implementation Pass churches begin their coaching sessions this week.
Doors open at 10:00 AM • we wrap by 2:00 PM — four focused hours, and you leave with a finished plan.
Who’s Leading It
Michael Amey is a pastor, strategist, and city-builder with 15 years of pastoral leadership. He’s led a church in the city, watched what works and what wastes everybody’s time, and spent years developing a practical framework for churches that are serious about their neighborhoods — not just their Sundays.
He’s the author of Power: Built to Dominate, hosts The Monday Leader podcast, and leads Change the World Missions with active ministry infrastructure in Namibia. Through Pivot 90, he consults with pastors on strategy, systems, and city engagement.
City First LA is the first in-person expression of that framework in Los Angeles — and Michael will be in the room with your team from 10 AM to 2 PM, not on a stage, but at the table.
Bring Your Team
Most pastors leave conferences fired up and go home to a team that wasn’t in the room. So they spend the next two weeks trying to transfer something that can’t be transferred — the energy, the conviction, the clarity. Then life happens. The plan sits.
Bring your team to City First LA and that problem disappears. They were in the room. They shaped the plan. They already own it. You don’t have to sell them on something they built.
Whoever will be doing the work
is who needs to be in the room.
Churches of every denomination, generally 75–1,000 in attendance. This is a working session, not an audience for one person.
Prices are per pastor. Then bring your whole team — add every leader from your church for a flat $79 a seat.
The four-hour intensive — you leave with a plan, not just notes.
For the church that wants the plan executed, not shelved.
Bring your team. The pass prices above are per pastor. Once you’ve claimed your own pass, add every additional leader from your church for a flat $79 a seat. The plan you build here only moves as fast as the team that owns it — so fill the room.
Your partnership doesn’t fund a meeting — it equips institutions LA’s neighborhoods already trust.
Sponsor a bi-vocational or small-church pastor who couldn’t otherwise attend — a direct gift, not a tier.
Provide the venue. Receive complimentary team seats and recognition — the room itself is the partnership.
Cash and in-kind are both welcome at every level, and tiers can be combined with a Scholarship or Host commitment.
Become a PartnerSome churches wait to see what works. Others walk out of this room already doing it. When your city starts noticing the difference — and other pastors start asking what changed — this is where that answer begins.
Come with your leaders. The plan you build in the room governs your church’s entire fall season — and the coaching that follows makes sure it gets executed, not shelved.
Before You Register
Senior, executive, campus, and outreach pastors — and the leadership teams who’ll actually carry the work. It’s built for churches of every denomination, generally 75 to 1,000 in weekly attendance. This is a working session, not an audience for one speaker, so come with the people who make the decisions.
The Intensive Pass ($97 per pastor) includes the full four-hour intensive, the premium workbook, your 90-Day City First Action Plan, a working lunch, and networking with LA pastors. The Implementation Pass ($197 per pastor) adds three coaching sessions, a direct review of your 90-day plan, a private implementation community, built-in accountability, and a 90-day progress review — the follow-through that keeps the plan from getting shelved. Additional team members are a flat $79 a seat on either pass.
A central Los Angeles venue, announced directly to registrants closer to the date. The day runs Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a working lunch served in the room.
There’s no hard cap. Whether it’s a few dozen pastors or a few hundred, everyone who wants in is in. It’s still a working session — you build your plan at your table, in the room, with real guidance. The more churches that fill the room, the bigger the movement your city sees. Bring your whole team.
